Reliability,
Integrity and Safety are not just key facets of all
Scope products, but also play an essential role in
the workplace and the way in which we design and
manufacture our systems. The company's documented
quality system (to ISO 9002) is just a starting point
for the many complex operations which result in the
delivery of professionally engineered, reliable products
to our diverse range of customers.
Principal operations undertaken at Scope's manufacturing facility include
printed circuit board assembly, wave soldering, hand soldering, automated
lead cropping, optical inspection, UHF radio alignment, electro-mechanical
assembly, ATE function testing and high voltage safety testing. Controlled
ESD protection measures are utilized throughout the assembly process.
All products have their key parameters aligned and tested at sub-assembly
stage. |

The finished
systems are then re-checked and 100% function tested
prior to despatch. Test equipment from leading manufacturers,
including Marconi, Hewlett Packard and Anritsu,
is used extensively throughout the Production dept.,
and all test equipment is calibrated and traceable
to UK national standards. All mains powered products
are subjected to end of line electrical safety testing
in accordance with EN60950 and the Low Voltage Directive
73/23/EEC.
The controlled Stores department, with dedicated
Goods Inward Inspection and ESD handling areas,
ensures that components are checked for accuracy
to specification prior to kitting and assembly.
All product documentation is mastered within the
QA department and a dedicated MRP system and database
is used to control Bills of Materials and job record
storage.
